S-video?

Posted: 04-06-2007, 06:14 PM
Hi,

I am using a S-viedo cable to connect Vista PC to the TV
Sometimes it is working fine but mostly not.
I could dedect when faulty the resolution of the second screen had a
resolution 600/800
while it should have a lower one 640/480

But when not ok resoltion 600/800 is the only which i can take.

When ok i have all possible solution and when taking 640/680 it is working
fine.

Somebody any advice?

Regards

Huib

Have you checked the manufacturer's website to be sure you have the latest
drivers for your graphics card and to see whether or not those drivers are
still in beta or if those drivers are currently only supporting basic
functions?

The latest drivers are usually at the manufacturer's website as opposed to
Windows Update. In the case of the nVidia card, you may need to go beyond
the HP site and check the nVidia website directly.

Most TVs are only expecting 480i S-video which is the NTSC standard. The
grsphics cards normally create a 480i image of your desktop using a scan
converter chip. However, only a few scan converter chips can handle a PC
desktop resolution over 800x600 and they are limited to 1024x768

Just a WAG: I believe that's a function of your video card.

Yes,
However your question should be does your M150 card support S-video input
from a STB for MC since you will have to make MC think your 360 is a TV STB.
However if it does there will be a delay due to Mac's support of time
shifting and your display will lag your X-box video will lag too long to be
able to play the games.
Best would be if your M150 card has its own TV application that will accept
S-video without time shifting it.

"bump" only works on the crappy web-interfaces.

If you're the one who wondered about using s-video for the X-box
(working from memory here), just hook the thing up an TRY it for
crissakes!
