Safari: faster printing;, more printing options?

(This is about Safari on OS X 10.2.8.)

I only use a B&W Apple Laser Writer Pro but have lots of
articles with color graphics (journal articles) or
sometimes color background images (web pages) that take
too long to download and print. Is there a way to tell
Safari to print B&W only or not to print background images?
The difference printing to the LW with about 6 or 8 Mb of RAM
from Safari and Explorer is quite noticeable (MANY minutes).

Comparing: Safari and Firefox have no specific browser
settings in the print dialog pull down menu. By default,
I think Firefox prints headers/footers with the URL and
time; Safari does not. Is there any way to turn that ON
in Safari?

Camino 0.7 has a "Web Browser" menu where I can check/uncheck
"print background colors" and "... images". Explorer 5.2.2
has an "Internet Explorer" menu with "Headers Footers",
background, images, ... settings.

Does the newer Safari for 10.3.3 have more printing options?
Color yes/no; headers/footers; images yes/no; background
images yes/no; etc.? Any workarounds?

Another problem with Safari printing web pages is the font
size: it's WAY too big. How can I control that? A displayed
(screen) page looks like one page (10 or 12 pt font) but it
prints as three pages with a huge (18? >18? pt) font with
Safari but as one page in a reasonable (10 or 12 pt) font
using Explorer. Is there a fix for that? (I've tried
View > "make text smaller" but that doesn't work very well.)

Thank you.

Safari 1.2.1 lets you select whether or not to print background images.
Color vs. greyscale is a function of the printer driver. To print a
header with the title, URL and date, you can use the shareware Safari
Extender.
