SanDisk USB card reader not reading CF Memory Cards

Hi,

I'm having a problem reading Compact Flash memory cards
using SanDisk USB card readers. Up until about a month
ago I always used the card reader to download digital
camera pictures to my computer. About a month ago I
plugged the CF card into the card reader and tried to
access the card and got the error "Card is not
accessible." I bought a new SanDisk 8 in 1 reader and it
also resulted in the same problem. I was able to connect
the Kodak DC215 camera to the computer with the wizard and
slowly download all the pictures.
I tried formating the card but then got the error "Windows
cannot finish formatting the card."

Any help would be appreciated.

Never have Windows format a CF card. Have the camera format the card!

This should take care of your problem. Usually when the reader can't read
the card - something is wrong with the card - not the reader (esp. since
you've been using the card reader just fine before w/o any changes).
