Sata Help...

Posted: 09-27-2007, 01:20 PM
Could someone answer a few questions for me? I have a new PC (Vista Home
Premium) with a 320GB Serial ATA 2 Hard Drive (7200RPM) 16MB Cache SATA
3.0Gb/s. I bought a new WD 320GB Serial ATA 2 just for storage. I also
noticed that I have 3 extra sata ports on the MB. 1 for the new HD and I
want to add a 2 port sata bracket for External use. All ports and HD's are
type L, one with pull off connectors the other with metal clips.

1) Is there a difference between type I & type L cables, pull off or metal
clips etc...
2) Does it matter if the sata bracket has internal type L and external type
I? Because you can get any combination of cable ends.
3) The external HD has a type L and usb 2 connectors.
$) Any links for info please...
TIA

Jeff
