Re: scanner problems

Have you taken a look at the Event Viewer to see if an error gets logged
internally - that maybe doesn't get sent to the screen?
Get it to a point where it works, and note the time on your PC, then use the
scanner. Then close out of the scanner application, and then go back in. If
it still works, note the time, again... (we're just trying to get this
failure to happen and associate it with the time).
Then click Start, click Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, or
Administrative Tools, and then double-click Event Viewer, and click on
Application.
You are looking for a events AFTER the time you know it worked.... there
may be many...(most are harmless, and the system simply restarts whatever
failed)... that is why noting the time it WORKED is important....
You can right-click on any of those events, and gather (sometimes) useful
information about what happened.
This should AT LEAST give you the program/driver that is having the
*issues*. And maybe even more info than that.
Good luck,
