SCSI Pass Through on ATAPI Device

Posted: 10-27-2003, 07:33 PM
We have a unique ATAPI device (that we designed). It
works find in Win2X / XP using the SCSI Pass Through
Interface.

However, It is flagged in the control panel because there
is not driver for it.

We have not requirements for another driver as SCSI Pass
Through works fine.

How can we remove the flagging in the control panel. Or
equivalently perhaps, can a Null Device .inf file be used
to do this. The DDK section 2.5 indicates how to create a
null device but the information is incomplete.

What is the unique identifier, magic incantation to get
the inf file accepted as a valid one for our device? How
is a hardware id generated for a device attached to a 40
pin IDE connector?
