Unable to open and run search companion from the Start
Menu dialog box. Any suggestion for a fix would be
appreciated.

Thanks. I tried all those fixes and workarounds but to
no avail. I just thought there may be another fix, short
of re-installing XP that was lurking around somewhere.

319949 - Error Message: "A File That Is Required to Run Search Companion
Cannot Be Found":
http://support.microsoft.com/default...;en-us;Q319949

Click Start | Run and type "regsvr32 /i c:\windows\srchasst\srchui.dll"

1. Disable any anti-virus program, any BIOS anti-virus, and any 3rd party
system tool that monitors files.
2. Run SFC /SCANNOW.
3. If the Search is not fixed, perform a repair installation of Windows XP.

A tech was on my computer and my search companion was
changed and now I cannot keep my animated companion for
internet search. It goes constantly back to classic even
though I follow the steps to change the options and click
ok.
Small thing....but I would like some help.
Thank you!
