Serial port data transfer

Posted: 08-29-2003, 10:26 PM
My old W95 computer would accept data through a serial
port from a blood glucose meter and allow me to view and
save it in the manufacturer's software. Now in XP, I
cannot get the data from the meter. The manufacture
suggested changing XP's properties to be W98
compatible...no go. A friend suggested changing BIOS Com
Port from 'auto detect' to 'Com 1' (identified by serial
jack on back of computer)...no go.

I'd really like to keep the glucose meter, but I need to
see the data. Any ideas?

Thanks, Chuck...
