Services / Msconfig

1) The antivirus program in Norton SystemWorks 2003
became corrupted, and I had to uninstall the entire
program. The uninstall went badly and I was left with
many Norton files and programs (most of them hidden). I
used some utilities to remove the files / programs and
edited the registry as best I could. But my System
Configuration Utility still lists all of the Norton
services. What must I do to remove these services
permanently?

2) The title "Norton System Works 2003" still shows in my
Add/Remove dialog, but there is no removal applet to the
right. How can I get rid of this "referance" to the
missing program?

My thanks to all who can help me fix this mess!

How to use the Norton SystemWorks cleanup utility (SymClean)
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT...01101612274407

Download and run the above Symantec cleanup utility, reboot your computer,
logon with Administrator privileges, then proceed to install Norton 2003.

Open the suspect files and see if there is anything in
them. Often, progs will leave an empty shell to know
where to go to when you reinstall. Download either
RegCleaner or JV16 and be CAREFUL when you use these.
GOOD LUCK
