Setting up a RAID array.

Posted: 01-30-2006, 09:36 AM
I have three 60Gb IDE Hard drives that I could use in a RAID array in my
G3. Trouble is, using the software RAID tool in the disk utility doesn't
allow it to boot from a RAID array as the startup disk. I guess the RAID
software has to be started sometime during the OS X bootup.

I also have four 36Gb SCSI drives. I fitted a PCI SCSI RAID controller
but this didn't appear to be found and obviously neither was the drive.
Are SCSI cards Mac specific like graphics cards?

Anyone know of any way I get a RAID array up and running on a PCI G3 Blue
and White?

TIA.
