Setting up New Group called Remote Control Operators

Posted: 11-12-2003, 04:15 PM
Hello All

We have an image and we need to add an App called LAN Desk which is used to
manage all the terminals in the Network. The remote site has managed to
install LAN Desk fine but a local Group called Remote Control Operators
needs to be setup. So far they have not been able to do that. The person who
is building our XPe says it is not possible, however I firmly believe
anything is possible so I have come to the font all knowledge XPe to see if
this is possible and if it is something we need to do when the image is
being built in TD. If this is the case what do we need to do to set up the
Remote Control Operators Group.

Cheers and Ta in advance!

I guess that you should tell the person to play with
the command 'net group'

Hello Zirong

So they could use NET GROUP "Remote Control Operators" /add? and this should
add a group to the XPe image?

Cheers

Setting up New Group called Remote Control Operators

Create image, with fba phase set to 0 (so it doesnt seal
after first boot).

Add your local group using users/groups. When finished
run fbreseal and clone.

I believe net group can only be used on a domain
controller

Rather than 'net group' use 'net localgroup "wwww" /add'

This should work

I was reading into that, and yes you seem to be correct but it also looks
like if you do not have the /domain in the command then the group will be
set up on local workstation, or at least that is what my info said.

Cheers
