SHARE MEMORY SISTEM OF VIDEO CARD

Tom,

This is nothing to be concerned about. Vista is designed to share video
card memory with system RAM only when video use needs it, just like any other
process on your computer. Your word processor uses sysem RAM when it needs
it. Should your video card run out of memory, it won't crash because it will
then use system memory.

This doesn't mean that 495 MB of system memory is not available for system
use. That 495 MB will only be use when needed. If it's not needed, it's
available for other system uses. This is a good feature and cannot be turned
off. You don't want to turn it off. Your video card has 256 MB of memory,
and it's possible that that 256 MB will never be used, so in that case no
system RAM will ever be needed. Confused yet?
