Sharing a printer question

Silly question but I'm going to ask it anyhow
If you have a local printer setup on a machine and you share the printer
does the machine the printer is physically connected need to be on in order
to print? Someone doesn't need to be logged in but the PC at least needs to
be on correct?

sorry for the lame question but I just wanted to verify

Thanks

If the printer is connected to computer one and you print from computer two
across the network, yes, computer one needs to be turned on also. It may
even need to be logged into but until you try you won't know.
