Sharing Fax Machine

Is it possible t share you default fax modem on a netork
using windows XP, The sam gesfor scnner.

Do I have to buy a new scanner/ Fax modem for each
computer on my network or can I share it over my whole
network & if I can How do I do it?

I am afraid not. Sharing is supported only in Windows Server products. You
need Windows Server 2000 or Windows Server 2003 or Small Business Server
2000. Why not install one of the Windows Server product for the machine
which has the modem? You can still use Windows XP or Windows 2000 in other
client machines.

Sharing of your fax printer is not allowed in XP. Any server side OS like
Win 2k or
Windows Server 2003 does allow you to do so. So you could install this on
the machine which has the modem. All your other machines XP or others can
then use this remote fax printer.
I am not sure about the scanners though.
