| i have a wirelss network running from my xp computer. the vista wireless computer i have shows my xp computer in the "full" network map, but shows a "switch" between the xp computer and the network. i can access the vista computer but can't access the xp computer nor use it's printers from the vista one. i've tried hours and hours of research, futile attempts to fix and idle time listening to no nothings on help lines. can someone PLEASE help - i'm stumped. | Guest

| If turn off the firewall can you ping each other by IP? if yes, what's the result of net use \\xpipaddress? | just to update - i appreciate the help i received, but have ended up with a much more serious problem on the new laptop - my OS seems to be corrupted - i'm trying to back things up so i can start all over - but i'm having trouble doing even that. again - thanks for the advice - but maybe a clean start was what was needed anyway (trying to find the bright side of this) "kencamera" wrote: Quote:
