Greetings Lim,To get the bar to hide when the option isn't available, shut down Messenger, then download
and run the following .reg file:

The option to hide or see the Menu Bar, is a very small upside downarrowhead, in a small outline, in the right hand upper corner, under the X to
close Messenger
