Simple dual-boot question

Posted: 02-27-2007, 05:18 PM
I have a dual-boot setup with which I can boot into either XP or Vista which
are installed on their own separate HDD's (Vista: C:\ and XP: P:\). I want
to make 100% sure that I have things properly setup in regard to what boot
related folder/files are in each of the roots of the O/S since I initially
had problems booting into XP from the boot menu. I copied the following
folder and files to the root of BOTH XP and Vista. What I want to know is if
any of them should be removed if they are redundant (not needed) or
potentially harmful. Again both XP and Vista have ALL of the following items
in their respective roots:

FOLDER:
Boot

FILES:
boot.ini
bootmgr
NETDETECT.COM
ntldr
