single-click in Explorer, double-click in dialogs?

Is there any way I can set my interface to let me single-
click in Explorer, but double-click in dialog boxes?

I have Explorerr set for single-click instead of double-
click. But when I'm saving a file, I like to run my
pointer down the list of files that are already there. My
new computer is so fast that this often picks up the name
of one of the files and puts it in the "filename" box
instead of the name of the file I'm saving.

Not that I know of. There is one place where you can change the
setting and this setting applies to all Explorer items.
