Code 28
The drivers for this device are not installed (Code 28).
To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver
Solution button: Reinstall Driver
This code means the device was not installed completely.
To resolve this issue, follow the recommended solution. If that does not work, try removing the device from Device Manager and using the Add New Hardware wizard to redetect it. You may need to obtain updated drivers if the error still occurs.

Find the manufacturers brand name under Control Panel/Device Manager.
Then go to the below website to update the free drivers that are XP compatible:
Sound card drivers
http://www.soundcard-drivers.com/

maybe i'm not explaining the issue. i'll try again.

i had slow sound, i took your advise and went to that site
and download the update for my cmedia card. after i did
that i got error code 28+slow sound.

is their any one who can suggest something good to do?
Byte, no offence, but it does not sound like you know what
you are talking about. So far you keep saying the same
thing over and over, even though i keep saying it does not
work. any good ideas?

Please download and install the driver from C-Media website. Once you
install the correct driver, it should fix things up for you. -
http://www.cmedia.com.tw/download/e_UDA039_01.htm. Allow download drivers
from the manufacturer and it will decrease your problems.
