Slow change between users and unable to switch users

I recently installed the Kodak digital camera download
program. Now takes forever to load XP on turn-on. XP
now does not allow user change without logging off.
When user does log off, the change takes too long. Do
you think an uninstall of Kodak program and reload may
solve this problem.

Additionally, how can I remove programs from my task bar?

Any help anyone can suggest will be attempted.
