| I got win xp pro on both machines connected to a dlink router. they can see each other but trying to access each others' files is sooo sloow!!! also transferring a 1MB file from pc1 to pc2 took about 10mins!!! my home lan is therefore useless because i cannot tranfer files over the network because it is so slow!! how do i fix this ? | Guest

| This is going to sound completely nuts. But, try unchecking the "Use Fast User Switching" in the logon options. I wrestled with a similar problem for days. My XP 2.2ghz IBM R40 p4 took 37 times LONGER to copy a directory of files from a networked host than a w95 400mhz PII.
