Slow Print LPT1 & USB

Posted: 08-07-2003, 03:39 AM
I have recently done an upgrade from 98SE to XP Pro SP1, a
clean install on a newly formatted HDD.
HP drivers were installed from the net during
installation. My HP930C has slowed to a crawl.
Read MS KB Article 318273 and switched to USB, after
deleting the printer from Start > Settings > Printers &
faxes, with no satisfactory improvement.
Word2000 takes up to 4 mins to print a single page of
text, with a small amount of colour text (two colours).
CPU useage is 100%. Spooler is set to start printing
immediately, although I have tried all other settings with
no improvement.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
Barry
