Something better than XP Fax?

I'm finding that the XP fax software is dreadful. If a fax doesn't go
through, there seems to be no way to immediately resend it. The fax
console is useless. It lists the fax in the outbox, but there is no way
that I can see to immediately resend it or even to change the time of
the next try. There is no way to monitor the progress of the fax. All
of these should be basic features. Am I missing something.

Is there any simple fax freeware program that works alone or offers
sits on top of XP and offers a better interface?kop

You can try eFax, they have a free 30 day trial period. You can even
use eFax using high-speed DSL or Cable.
