"Something" processing when I "Open in new Window" or do Google search...

Posted: 08-10-2003, 07:02 AM
Hey all!

I have a very odd issue with the IE6 installed on my Windows XP Pro
computer...

If I SHIFT-CLICK a link to open it in a new window, the window
appears, but the content area is see through and the page never
acutally loads. The WINDOWS flag just keeps waving away. If I STOP the
browser and hit ENTER on the URL in the address bar, the page loads
fine.

Also, the first time I use IE, the page will load... then just sit
frozen for around 6 seconds or so. The page is USUALLY a Google
search, but since this only happens after starting the PC, I haven't
fiddled enough to nail down the exact behaviour.

The TaskManager doesn't show anything out of the ordinary (except a
bunch of SVCHOST.EXE) ... No Kazaa or ZoneAlarm. I have NAV2003 and
run AdAware occasionally, so I don't think its a trojan, but I can't
say for sure.

Is there any way to see what DLL's that IE (or the system) is
accessing so I can find out what may be happening? Does anyone have
any ideas?

Thanks!
