Avoid the headaches and use CDex instead. Get it free at

I hope someone can help. I have the above installed, but cannot get album
information via Gracenote. The message I keep getting when I try to register
with Gracenote is Socket Open Fail. What does this mean and has anyone had
similar problems with this software?

Well I've never had *that* problem with SonicStage (May its authors fry in
Hell forever (TM)) however according to
http://www.fnprg.com/forum/viewtopic...cfb25453f2cee:

<quote>
Accordingly to Gracenote's troubleshooting information a "Socket open fail"
error is most likely due to firewall and/or proxy problems.
</quote>

You might want to look into that. In the case given above, the problem was
ZoneAlarm.
