Send it back to Gateway (under guarantee) and tell them to give you a PC
that works as it should.

According to my programmes, I do not have a sound device installed on my pc.
Can I down load one to install or do I need to buy one?

You probably just need to reinstall drivers for your sound card.

I'm assuming this is a recent problem, and your sound was working before?

Do you have a place on the back of your PC to plug in your speakers?
If you do, then you have a soundcard and the drivers are probably
not installed. You can check the disks that came with your PC when
you purchased it, or go to the manufacturers website to download
them for they are free.

I downloaded nokia pc suite from the nokia site the other day and my system
crashed and wasn't stable enough for me to be able to remove pc suite before
i got the dreaded blue screen. anyway eventually it appreared that it was a
problem with spy sweeper! So, i removed spysweeper, repaired XP and
downloaded SP2 - now I don't get any sound. If I go to sound and audio
devices it says i have no audio device and everything is greyed out. Yet if I
go to hardware everying is there and working properly...........can anyone
please help?

thanks
Simon
