Sound Driver wont load

Currently using XP SP2 on a Toshiba Satellite Pro 6100. It uses a Yamaha
sound card. Due to some unwanted spyware the Driver was trashed. When trying
to load either the driver from the backup discs, or from Yamaha and or
Microsoft everything seems fine until at the end when I recieve the message
"Driver was not Installed" . No other feedback as to why the Driver failed.
Suggestions?
