You need to go to the PC manufacturer's website and download and install the
correct audio drivers.

I have an yamaha crw 2100 Adaptec Easy cd creator 4.0 but Windows Xp home
does not see it or recognize it's
existance.

Because of it my speakers are not connected either.
How do I get these two devices to show in the "My
Computer" listing of CD and DVD devices on the
computer? Where could I find updated device drivers.
Thanks
zamalah

You have three separate issues, none of which are really related to each
other.

OK..... the Yamaha CRW2100 works fine with XP. It's a 16x10x40 drive and I
had one with XP for two years, before getting something a little faster
(52x24x52)

However EZCD Creator v4 does NOT... only v5.0 and above are compatible. You
have obviously upgraded from another operating system and did not use the
Upgrade Advisor or it would have told you to uninstall the program BEFORE
upgrading.

Now you will have to unisntall EZCD Creator v4.0 and then see Alex Nichol's
article at
http://aumha.org/win5/a/xpcd.php#problems

Speakers. They do not usually show up in Device Manager at all. The
speaker problem is NOT related to the CD drive nor to your incompatible
software. Speakers should be connected to the soundcard.... or sound
onboard chip.

Hi people,
I have a sound problem the drivers for windows xp pro
seem to be dictating to device manager or vice-versa.
what I mean by this is I can't remove them. At one point
I was able to remove the legacy drivers from the
multimedia and sounds etc... section of device manager
but could not remove the codecs and other entries. But
this has changed since. Now I have the manufactures
drivers in the sound but can not i cant remove the legacy
driver and both the drivers are sharing the area, that
does not mean that they are both being used. How can I
force the removal of the unwanted drivers.

What happens if you right click on the unwanted devices and select
Uninstall?
