sound still does not work

I have been trying to get any sound from my speakers for a while. I even
brought some assistance in to try and help. Everything is turned on that we
can find. We went all the way into the Device Manager and everything seems to
be turned on and ready. And, yes, the speakers work. Even the tech support I
contacted could only get us as far as we got on our own. The sound seems to
be off at the "BIOS" level. Is that something I can turn back on? Any help is
appreciated.
