SP2 RC2 Changes Boot Screen

SP2 RC2 changed my boot screen from Windows XP Professional to Windows XP.
Any way to get the professional boot screen back?

TIA,
Rob

Not that I am aware of. It changes the screen by design and I believe it is
not reversible.

It is changed by design. All versions of Windows XP will now simply
show the same Windows XP logo. It is possible to change your loading
screen and there are several programs that can do this. I just wouldn't
trust them and don't really see a problem with the new logo. If you
really care that much, try this method:
http://www.overclockersclub.com/guid...bootscreen.php

And get the bootscreens here:
http://www.themexp.org/listings.php?type=boot&view=date

Serious problems with updates working properly when the loading screen has
been changed have been reported many times in the beta newsgroups. I would
definitely NOT make any changes to this screen. If you need to know what
version you are using, right click on My Computer, and click the General
Tab, or click Start, Control Panel, and select System, then the General
tab. The type, PRO or Home, and the service pack number, and the build
number are all shown there.

The reason for that is that all of these replacements are made for SP1
and he will have to wait until there are some made for SP2.

The Windows XP SP2 RC2 boot screen is an implementation made by design.
Uninstalling Windows SP2 RC2 is one way to reverse the change back to the
original boot screen.

Why in this world would anyone prefer the old boot screen to the new
security, etc., updates since it is only displayed for a few seconds at
best?????

It's for a lot of normal users the only difference between the Home and Pro
version.
