Speaker issue

Posted: 11-30-2003, 01:48 AM
I have polk audio speakers (from my old HP PC on win 98)
which are now connected to my new Dell PC on windows XP
home.

The sound output from the speakers has greatly decreased
(about 90% less) and I am not sure if its the new XP
driver (SoundMAX Digital Audio) cause the output was fine
with the RipTide sound driver on my old PC.
Can anybody tell me how can I correct this.

I already checked everything possible (volume
adjustments) to correct this but nothing worked.
The sound is fine when I use my headphones connected to
the headphone jack.

Is it possible that my old speakers are not compatible
with the new PC? Or is there a easier way to correct this
problem?

Thanks.
