Speaker setting reverting

Using the control panel I constantly have to change from
desktop stereo to 5.1 speaker support. Happens upon boot-
up, but not everytime. Been trying to narrow it down to
maybe some application, but have yet to find the culprit.
Maybe someone else is experiencing this.

After you reset your Speaker settings, did you click OK?
You must click Apply first then OK, to set and save
settings.
