Speakers and headphones on at the same time

when i connect my headphones or other speakers to my laptop, my laptop
speakers stay on. Anyway to change this?

Start>Control Panel>Sounds and Audio>Audio tab>Advanced>
Speaker setup, select Stereo headphones>Apply>OK out.
