Splitting Hard drive

I made to partition of my hard drive one for vista and one for xp.when the
screen comes up i just goto the part that says clean install and point it to
the partition I made for vista will it install there or will it install on
the xp partition.I have downloaded VistaBoot Pro but waiting to install that
till after I do the 2 partitions. Is this the right way todo this
