Study the Readme files in the games folder And on the CD.
Can be video related.
Try 16 bit resolution.
Can be defective video card.

Begin by gathering more information about a blue-screen error
message. To do that configure Windows to "Write an event to
the system log" with bugcheck information. For more
information see the following Microsoft Knowledge Base
article:

KB314084 - How to Gather Information After a Memory
Dump in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;314084

Then, if you need help troubleshooting the problem reply to the
appropriate newsgroup. For example, if the error is hardware
related try posting to Windows XP Hardware (AKA
microsoft.public.windowsxp.hardware)

Include the exact message found in Event Viewer (eventvwr.msc).
Note: To copy the details of an event click the Copy button, then
paste it in your newsgroup post.

Include as many answers as possible to the questions found in
the KB314084 "Additional Information" section.

Include the exact name of the game and whether the game
is an Internet Game, a game installed on your local hard drive,
or a game installed on a network server.
