Spooler Subsystem App Error

I'm trying to install an HP LaserJet 2300 onto my PC with
Windows XP Pro. It keeps giving me the Spooler Subsystem
App Error. I went to the HP website and it said to refer
to Windows XP Support for the the fix. I did and I can't
find anything to help me.
