| This is usually a driver issue or caused by a card, usually graphics or soundcard that is not compatible with the function. Start by checking your graphics card and soundcard manufacturer's website for updated drivers. -- Michael Solomon MS-MVP Windows Shell/User Backup is a PC User's Best Friend DTS-L.Org: http://www.dts-l.org/ "Ricardo" <me_gumbeto_me@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:843ee8b8.0311181439.75c7d63e@posting.google.c om... | Hi, I found a couple of possibilities for this. One could be an out-of-date BIOS, or perhaps a machine that does not support Standby functionality. You would need to check with the computer manufacturer to see if the computer should support the Standby option and if a newer BIOS version is needed for this. Another thing that has caused this problem in the past is some 3rd-party software the somehow stops proper functionality of the Standby option. One seen was Logitech Mouseware. Another was a program called MyBarney. Removing this software resolved the problem in those cases.
