i'm try to install starcraft but everytime this comes up-
"install.exe- application error
the application failed to initialize properly
(0xc0000005). click on OK to terminate the application."
PLEASE HELP ME!

Hi Jesse,

Starcraft was originally for Windows 95, try compatibility mode...

To install a program using Windows XP's Compatibility Mode, hold
down SHIFT as you insert the game CD, use My Computer to browse
to the setup program, and then skip down to step 1 in the list below:

To run an installed program using Windows XP's Compatibility Mode,
first right click the program and "Send To..." / Desktop (create shortcut).

1.. Right click on the shortcut to the program.
2.. Click on Properties.
3.. Click on the Compatibility tab.
4.. Click on Run this program in compatibility mode and select one of these:
a.. Windows 95
b.. Windows 98
c.. Windows NT 4
d.. Windows 2000
5.. Under Display settings, check mark the mode that you think that is best:
a.. Run in 256 colors.
b.. Run in 640 X 480 screen resolution.
c.. Disable visual themes.

Click on Apply.Click on Ok.Double click on the program.

Of course, let's not forget to check for any patches or updates for that game.

Starcraft installs and runs without Compatibility modes.

ciao a tutti,spero conosciate il gioco starcraft,il mio problema é che
quando creo una partita per giocare in rete(col server battle.net) nessuno
riesce ad accedere e a giocare con me,io pero posso entrare in quelle degle
altri.
ho saputo che potrebbe essere il router o qualcosa del genere che non mi fa
creare le partite.
qualcuno sa dirmi qualcosa di piu???

Se avete una firewall dovete aprire gli orificio (portello, finestra -
tuttavia voi chiamata esso) 6112 di TCP e di UPD. Ottenga le ultime patch
per Starcraft & Battle.net. Una nuova patch (v1.11) è disponibile (data di
emissione: 28/04/04)
Bizzard.com è tradotto in francese e tedesco, ma non italiano. hanno
patches disponibili per il gioco:

Cerca "Guide in linea e supporto" (Start) per "ICF".

Aperto: Start, Pannello di Controllo, Rete e Connessioni Internet,
Connessioni di rete, pulsante destro del mouse "Proprieta", pulsante
Avanzate

Se il "Firewall connessione Internet" non è selezionato che la parete non
è il problema.

Se il "Firewall connessione Internet" è selezionato: pulsante
"Impostazioni..." & "Aggiungi" porta 6112, TCP & pulsante OK
La ripetizione ed aggiunge lo stesso per il UDP
Pulsante OK, OK, OK...
