The new location in Vista for the all users start menu is:
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu.

You can click Start and then right-click All Programs and select Explore All
Users and get to the same location.

The user specific start menu folder is in:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Window s\Start Menu.

Then you can arrange things as you like.

I create at least 4 folders, "techie", "games", Microsoft, and "utilities".
Then move everything into one of these 4 folders.

"techie" is stuff like backup, defrag, CCleaner, anti-virus, firewall.

"games" is games.

I use "Microsoft" because all the geeks who are showing me how to do
something on my laptop always look for a Microsoft directory.

"utilities" is any other apps, music, graphics, editors, etc.

Then you can do sub-folders within folders.
