If i think i know wat you are talking aobut ? Your
multiboot selector for your selected operating system may
have a selection timer on it, so u need to go and
configure your selector

How do you remove programs from the start up menu.I don't
want to delete them, just keep them from running at start
up.

james;
Go to>>> C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
Left click and drag 'em out of there.
Go to>>> C:\Documents and Settings\WESLEY P. VOGEL\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
Left click and drag 'em out of there.
-------------
Start/Run/type: msconfig /OK/Startup tab/UNCheck the programs.
-------------
Unchecking these programs in the Startup tab of msconfig is not a fixall. That
should
be done within the programs themselves, if possible.
Look to see what programs you have listed under the Startup tab. Open
those
programs, one at a time, and look in Options, Settings, Preferences, Properties
or
similar. Look to see if there is an option like: Load at startup, or: Start
when Windows
starts or similar. Uncheck or de-select these options.

Hope this helps. Let us know.

James,

Startup Control Panel (free) from http://www.mlin.net/ is a neat
little applet in your Control Panel that lets you do just that. You
can add, delete, or disable items in any of the 5 startup lists.

Cheers,

Chuck

when my computer started up, it seemed to be stuck on a
page which read something along the lines of b drive :not
found and so on, usually it stays on this page for a
moment then continues but this page stayed for 5 minutes
and everytime i shut the computer down and restarted the
problem persists. Not so long ago my old computer just
kept restarting itself trying to find a 'safe mode', and
inturn I lost a drive, the cause of this is unknown, and
I also lost all my work. Is the way in which my computer
is starting up a problem? is there something wrong with
my computer? because this has never happened before.
