Visit the IBM support website and download and install the
Utility drivers designed for Windows XP and your specific
ThinkPad model.

| My IBM Thinkpad has a serious problem with managing its
| power, first of all the battery is one of theose ni-mh or
| whatever, and i hvae ot "form" it but when the battery
| works and stuff, the power meter says that there is )
| power left when i can run the computer for 1-2 more hours,
| it says that as soon as i switch to battery power. I also
| can tell this because when i start and it does the post
| test, it wont let me start my computer if i dont have it
| plugged in wall, it will just shutdown, can someone tell
| me how i can disable the bios from checking power level,
| or fix the power meter? "Preferably power meter" thanks.

Search for the utility BOOTVIS on Google - you'll find download links and
user guides.

Bootvis can examine your boot-up processes and optimilise them for a quicker
boot-up.

Martin.

Download Bootvis.exe from Microsoft..... it is a boot optimizer (and it's
free). Choose the Optimize function from the menu. It will need to reboot
your system.... just let it finish it's work... it may take a little
while....

Here's a Bootvis utility link:
http://www.winxpfix.com/Windows-Soft...41.htm#bootvis

You can get it from Microsoft, too, but when I went to the site today(for
this reply), it said it was temporarily unavailable....
It may be available by the time you read this, so here's the link:

When I start up windows XP Pro a file pops up titled
C:\windows\system32\system32.exe
How do I fix this, it kinda causes my computer to lag on
startup.

System32.exe is a virus file.

Remove remnants of KWBot.Worm from the Registry and File System
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_d...lean_kwbot.htm

Note: You'll have to disable your antivirus program before running the repair.
