startup-delay

This is a startup-problem.

I use windows XP - professional,
and MSN 6.0.

I've always had my PC on a network-internet connection,
now its connected through ADSL, so im still kind of using
a network-connection. But when now using ADSL I experience
a 30second delay after getting in to the windows XP. This
comes after i've chosen my specific user in my XP-startup
(administrator-user).

My first thought was that it maybe had something to do
with my MSN, since this did not load til after the 30sec
delay. I also read both

msnmsgr.exe
msmsgs.exe

in my Tastlist. It also happens that when I do get
connected to the internet after delay, i get a message
that i'm being logged out at my msn, because i've logged
in at another location. Something that implies that i'm
running double MSN - something i cant really see i am
doing from the taskbar/tray.

After removing MSN from my startup with msconfig, i still
got the same 30sec delay, so i'm not really sure this is
the source of the problem.

I've never had multiple users on my XP-setup before, can
this -with me having a new internetconnection - have
anything to do with this annoying delay?

I know i could try removing users, but i want to be
absolutely sure before i have to delete or make drastic
changes to the setup of my pc..

Can you help?

JOHN: Just an idea, but have you used the built-in XP
network config tool? If not.it will walk you through the
process.
