Std Cable to USB Switching

My printer was installed and working properly with a
normal printer cable, it was too short to where i wanted
to move the printer to, so i took off the standard
printer cable, moved the printer and installed a longer
USB cable, now my printer wont print at all. I've deleted
and re-added the printer and it still will not detect the
printer or print anything. Anyone know how i get my
printer to work? HP Deskjet 6122.
