Default Sticky Keys

Sticky keys in Windows Xp Home Edition get frequently
turned on while typing the text in Outlook Express and MS
Word, even though we don't hit the shift key five times.
Also, note that we have checked acccessibility option in
control panel, and have kept "Use Sticky Keys" box
unchecked. Please let us know how to turn sticky keys off
forever.

Go back to Accessibility Options and click the Settings button for
StickyKeys. Uncheck the box that allows the keyboard shortcut. Click OK.

Default Sticky Keys

Hi,

For some unknown reason, my taskbar started showing an
icon, made up of tiny black boxes. When I put my cursor
over the icon, the name "StickyKeys" appears.

Anyone know what these keys are? How did it simply
appear on my computer? Should I be concerned or is it
simply another annoying glitch?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx Michelle

Sticky keys are for preventing unwanted repetitions of letters; this is
useful to people with unsteady hands which can cause this. To get the same
letter twice, one must hit the desired key again. Why this just appeared is
anybody's guess but it's of no concern.

To remove, go to Control Panel>Accessibility options>Keyboard tab and
uncheck "Use Sticky keys." The icon should be gone.

If you do not use StickyKeys, disable them.
Control Panel (classic view)> Accessibilities Options
Uncheck the box to use StickyKeys.
Click the Settings button in the StickyKeys section. On the next screen,
uncheck the box for the shortcut keys that automatically start StickyKeys.
