Stop Error issues

Posted: 04-05-2004, 04:01 PM
Hi,

I installed a new Lite-on CD-RW drive and shortly thereafter I starte
getting BSOD messages on shutdown of WinXP. I sent in an MS erro
report which refered me to some company's driver page to update a
obscure driver (I wish I could remember more about it, but I can't fin
the site in my IE history). After installing the driver "upgrade",
continued to get a BSOD, but the error changed to"

STOP:0X0000008E(blah blah blah) with no specific driver mentioned.

I tried many things but I figured since the only new piece of hardwar
I added was the CD-RW, I would disconnect it and see what happens.
After doing this, I get a new BSOD. This time the error is:
STOP: 0X0000007E(blah,blah,blah) with the following driver mentioned:
FS_REC.SYS

I have tried looking into this problem, somebody said that the
upgraded Nero Burning CD and their problem went away. I deleted Nero
but nothing has changed. Alot of people say they have this proble
after running checkdsk, but I had no problems when I tried doing that.

Any ideas would be appreciated
