Strange Error Message

Posted: 08-01-2003, 10:28 PM
I get the following error message for virtually every
application I attempt to run (including) start up apps.
After the message, all apps appear to run just fine.

The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\.dll is not a valid
Windows image. Please check this against your
installation diskette.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Mark

Strange Error Message

A few days ago, my Gateway (with XP) was apparently hit
by two viruses, "Trojan.SinKin" and "Downloader.MSCache"
or something like that. I believe my Norton took care of
them both. The virus notices stopped and when I search
for viruses with Norton, it reports, clean. I also had
Norton check my computer from online.

Then shortly thereafter, I started getting the folowing
error notice, every few minutes, "APPLCIATION: SDSSEMG,
WIN 16 Subsystem has insufficent resources to continue
running, shut down, etc." I just click it away and keep
on working, and it keeps popping up.

When I went to the Microsoft site, and then to Gateway,
as they recommended, the Gateway tech said I must have a
virus, but that he couldn't do anything about it...to try
having one of their local stores (where I bought it) do a
virus check and fix over the net! Well, yestrday the
stroe siad they couldn't do it.

Does anyone recognize this error message?

I am not very good a this stuff...any assistnac would be
greatly apprceiated.

Sincerely,
Charlie

Whenever I log on, a message titled "WjView"
automatically pops up which says "ERROR: Could not
execute Main: The system cannot find the file specified."

Also, whenever I attempt to start up any basic Windows
programs like My Documents or Control Panel or the
Recycle Bin, it freezes for about two minutes before
doing anything. However, when I try to get into other
programs like AOL and WinMX, everything is fine.

I've tried everything but nothing seems to work and I
would tremendously appreciate some help. Thanks.
