stumped with getting more than 8 gigs of ram to work with x64 Vista

Posted: 12-09-2008, 04:48 PM

Sorry its meant to be 4 gigs of ram in subject
Hi

I recenetly purchased 64 bit vista ultimate and i am very frustrated

I cannot seem to get it to load or work properly without it taking ages
(literally 5 minutes if at all) with 8 gigs of ram in

As soon as i remove my 2 2gig modules out of the second channel of my
motherboard it will load and do everything fine if i do the reverse and
remove the first channel but leave the second ones in i get the same
result works A ok.

Ive reloaded the OS with the 8 gigs in and have downloaded and
installed all 64bit drivers for my board.

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!:cry::cry:

Specs
Core2duo E4600 2.4ghz
4x 2 Gigs Apacer DDR2 800mhz
MSI Radeon RX3870 512mb
Intel "frostburg" socket 775 board

Yes the board does support 8 gigs of memory and yes ive checked my ram
timings in my bios
