Hi Knight - Well, you might try this. If you don't still have it, then
re-download it from:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...easeID%3d36315
Then use any standard unzip program (DON'T click to install) to unzip it
to a temporary folder. You should then have direct access to the v.
2600.28 version of Usbuhci.sys which you can then use to replace your
existing. Be sure to register it after you replace the file (Start|Run
enter "regsvr32 usbuhci.sys" without the quotes). See if that helps.

Also, Knight - Be sure you backup the old one so you can restore if that
doesn't fix your problem.

Mike just for you to know.... I installed the one with the newer data. The
file version says its newer, but it says that it belongs to an older service
pack or patch. So what? I used the newer version since 5.1.2600.28 is newer
than 5.1.2600.11 right?

The modem worked better, I also lowered the transfer rate a bit, from 115
kbps to 33 kbps. Now the modem connects and no blue screen up to now (dont
know if I will get a blue screen in the future). Even though the connection
setting says 33 kbps the modem actually connects at 49-52 kbps, and the
transfer rates are the same as before. Seems that the drivers are crazy....

Anyway I hope I solved the problem.

For the ones reading technical replies, I would kindly request them to give
me their feedback with another post (in the same thread of course), so I
will know if my advice helped them or not.
