Suspend Password Bug

Posted: 01-13-2007, 06:54 PM
I found a bug in Vista RTM... now what?

When my laptop resumes from hibernate (but not from standby) it will not
accept my password. However, if I click "switch user" first, it will accept
the same password for the same user. This is, without question, a bug in
Vista itself, and not some third-party extension or software, since it's a
matter of user authentication. Obviously this doesn't happen to everyone, or
it would have been fixed by now.

So what do I do to help this bug get fixed? Where do I file a bug report?
I'm willing to provide any useful information about my system configuration,
but whom do I provide it to?

Try contacting Microsoft here: http://support.microsoft.com/contactus/
Or go through Microsoft Connect to the Vista beta and contact the Vista
teams there.

Note the tail end of the "You mays ... "

<< This error occurs on a Windows Vista-based computer that uses 2
gigabytes (GB) or more of RAM and an nVidia nForce EHCI controller. >>
