| I started out working from my administrator account, and now realize it's more secure to be in a user account. But all my favourites, email settings, documents, etc., are now in the administrator account. I've been exposed to permissions and frankly they scare me. Is there a SIMPLE way for me to transfer all my work to my user account. | Guest

| It's been a while since I posted to your thread, sorry I'm still trying to sort out some driver issues on my own Vista installation with limited time. I'll assume you haven't moved your data files etc from your administrator account to your personal account and try to help you. I did a little research on Vista's user file and could not find anything specifically related to your configuration. However, as you probably already know, you can "Move" User settings and data from one folder or volume to another within each User folder's property settings. I have done that myself with relatively little hiccups. In my case I'm keeping all the permissions of my files and folders the same and just changing locations and pointers to them. Quite simply, I believe you will have to change permissions. But I can suggest on how to modify your user folder permissions if you are willing. I can relate to your intrepidation. I think the solution should be straightforward. Post if you're interested. Quote:

| Thanks, Eddie, but I've since decided to just continue working with the admin account - I'm the only one with access to this computer. "EddieJ" wrote: Quote:
